MOMBASA, Kenya – The Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Mr. Mohammed I. Amin, today officially commissioned the newly established DCI offices at Bamburi Police Station, a major milestone in strengthening security and investigative operations within Kisauni Sub-County and its surrounding areas.
The new facility is expected to bring essential investigative services closer to residents, enhancing accessibility and response to crime-related matters in the region.
In his address during the opening ceremony, Mr. Amin lauded the collaborative efforts of various law enforcement and government agencies that have worked together to address security challenges along the Coast. He expressed deep appreciation to all stakeholders whose commitment and support made the establishment of the Bamburi DCI offices possible.
“This new office marks a step forward in ensuring that justice and safety are within reach for all citizens. I urge all officers deployed here to serve with professionalism, integrity, and full respect for the rule of law,” said Mr. Amin.
The DCI boss also encouraged members of the public to engage with the new office and help foster a strong partnership between law enforcement and the community, noting that public cooperation remains a key pillar in maintaining peace and security.
Among those who graced the occasion were Mr. Ali Nuno, Coast Regional Police Commander; Mr. Daniel Kandie, Coast Regional Criminal Investigation Officer; Mr. Mike Muia, Mombasa County Criminal Investigation Officer; Mr. Peter Kimani, Mombasa County Police Commander; and Mr. Alex Ithuku, Mombasa Chief Magistrate, who represented the Judiciary.
Also in attendance were representatives from the private sector and charitable organizations actively involved in community development, including Mombasa Cement, PrideInn, Bamburi Cement, Sayani, and Bob Wyne. Their continued support toward improving community welfare was highly recognized during the event.
The opening of the Bamburi DCI offices underscores the government’s ongoing commitment to enhancing national security, strengthening justice systems, and bringing essential services closer to the people.
