MALINDI, KILIFI COUNTY – Hon. Oscar Wanje, the current Member of the County Assembly (MCA) for Ganda Ward and a leading contender for the Malindi parliamentary seat in the 2027 General Election, on Wednesday joined hundreds of mourners, local leaders, family members, and friends at Kwa Hare Nzai in Kijiwetanga to pay his final respects to the late Mama Kahaso Nzai Kombe, who passed away after a period of illness.
The funeral brought together members of the community in a show of unity and solidarity as they celebrated the life of a woman remembered as a devoted mother, mentor, and pillar of strength within her family and the wider community.
Speaking during the burial ceremony, Hon. Wanje expressed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, encouraging them to remain strong and find comfort in God during their time of grief.
“To the family and all who knew her, accept my deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences on the loss of a devoted mother and pillar of love. May God grant you comfort, strength, and patience during this difficult season,” Hon. Wanje said.

The MCA noted that standing with families during moments of sorrow is an important responsibility of leadership, emphasizing that true leadership goes beyond development projects and includes walking alongside the people during both joyful and difficult moments.
Hon. Wanje has remained a familiar figure at community events across Ganda Ward and the larger Malindi Constituency, regularly attending social gatherings, religious functions, and bereavement ceremonies while maintaining close engagement with residents.
His presence at the funeral comes at a time when he continues to receive growing encouragement from residents across Malindi Constituency to seek higher leadership. Following sustained calls from community members impressed by his development record in Ganda Ward, Hon. Wanje recently announced that he had accepted the people’s request to contest for the Malindi Member of Parliament seat in the 2027 General Election. #Inshallah2027
