Recent information indicates that Quickmart is accelerating its expansion in Nakuru, the town where the retailer was originally founded in 2006. The company has announced multiple new outlets as part of its growth strategy, strengthening its presence in one of Kenya’s fastest-growing cities.
One of the key milestones was the opening of the Quickmart State House Road branch, which the retailer described as a “homecoming” because Nakuru is the birthplace of the Quickmart brand. The new store offers a wide range of groceries, fresh produce, household essentials, and promotional discounts aimed at local shoppers.

Ahead of the launch, Quickmart teased residents with announcements that additional stores were on the way, signaling an aggressive expansion plan across Nakuru County. The retailer has encouraged shoppers to expect greater convenience, shorter travel distances, and improved access to its “Fresh & Easy” shopping experience.
Reports also indicate that Quickmart is taking over former supermarket premises in Section 58, a move expected to create jobs and increase retail competition in the area. The expansion forms part of the chain’s broader nationwide growth strategy as it continues opening new branches across Kenya.
According to recent business listings, Quickmart now operates around 60 branches across 16 counties, with Nakuru remaining a strategic market because of its historical significance and growing population.
