Parents in the Kilelengwani area of Tana River County have been urged to ensure their children return to school for the first term of 2025.

Area Chief Jilo Mohamed Dhadho made the appeal, emphasizing that children should resume their studies in the schools they had been attending before the December holiday season, during which many families traveled to distant locations.

Speaking in a phone interview, Chief Dhadho warned parents against allowing their children to continue engaging in mango trading or livestock rearing instead of prioritizing their education.

He further cautioned that parents who fail to send their children back to school will face legal consequences for violating the children’s right to education.
