Masufuria Bin Mabakuli, an artist from Mombasa, was recently given the amazing chance to take part in an artist exchange program in the United Kingdom. Masufuria expressed his appreciation on Facebook after reflecting on his trip, stating that being immersed in the global art environment was a rewarding experience for him as a creator.
Masufuria stated, “I was privileged to travel to the UK for an artist exchange program. It was a really nice experience as a creative to be able to understand the landscape abroad and meeting with wonderful people. I hope to bring back and share what I learnt here.”
In addition to exhibiting his own work, the Mombasa County creative saw the tour as an opportunity to pick up new skills, comprehend other artistic mediums, and form deep bonds with artists from all backgrounds.
Masufuria was able to expand his views, acquire new perspectives on the field of contemporary art, and return to Kenya with a wealth of knowledge thanks to the exchange. He thinks that this cross-cultural interaction will inspire and uplift the local art scene in addition to having an impact on his own work.
“I hope to bring back to Kenya everything I’ve learnt and share it with fellow creatives,” Masufuria said. His story serves as a reminder of the benefits of cross cultural interaction in enhancing creative processes as well as the strength of artistic teamwork. We anticipate that Masufuria will make a significant contribution to the Coastal/Kenyan art scene in the future by incorporating his newly acquired experiences into his works.
